CAF Benefits

Depending on your income, you can claim benefit from the Caisse d’Allocations Familiales (CAF) if one of the 'Les Lauréades' residences becomes your principal residence.

AL- 'Allocation de logement'

Allocation Logement’ is a benefit granted to anyone paying housing costs and having income falling below a certain level. Its amount varies in line with the geographic location of your accommodation.
‘Allocation Logement’ can be claimed for all our 'Les Lauréades' residences with services except 3: Guyancourt, Champs sur Marne, Toulouse Pourpan).

APL – 'Aide personnalisée au logement'

This benefit can only be claimed by tenants of the registered (conventionnée) 'Les Lauréades' residences with services (3 of our  residences: Guyancourt, Champs sur Marne, Toulouse Pourpan). APL is paid directly to the lessor.

Payment of Housing Benefit

CAF (Caisse d’Allocation Familiales) benefits are paid at the end of each month, from the second month of occupation.
In this way, if the tenancy begins on 1st September, payment of benefits will begin at the end of October, unless you are already receiving housing benefit up to the 31st August.

For July and August the AL is suspended, unless you send the CAF a statement indicating that you are keeping your accommodation over this period.

Please note:
  • the calculation of your housing benefit takes into account your own income and not that of your parents
  • if you are under 25 year old, you can claim this benefit in your own right – but this will mean that your parents will not longer receive child benefit for you. Before applying, you should therefore compare the amount you could claim with what your parents will lose.
